My little cutie

This first picture is the 3rd time that Marcus tried to climb out of his crib and just ended up straddling the railing. The first 2 times were during his nap times when it's just he and I. However, this time it was on a Sunday morning and Daddy stayed with him while I ran to get the camera.

The second picture was taken at Darby Creek Park. Marcus and I spent the afternoon there last week and he spent most of the walk on my shoulders. I guess he was tired from throwing rocks in the river and playing in the mud. However, he regained his energy when he saw the play area. Amazing!!!

And I had to share this...yesterday I put Marcus down for his nap and I could hear him on the monitor having lots of fun instead of sleeping. So, I checked in on him and he was trying to do a somersault in his bed! I told him to lay down - it's night-night time. He did and I left the room. However, I heard him having tons of fun laughing and squealing so I climbed the stairs again. This time, all I did was open his door and he smiled, started 'snoring' as he laid down and continued to look at me, snoring. It took everything in me to not laugh in front of him.

Happy 2nd Birthday!!!

Marcus is now 2 years old and the time has flown by! We had a great summer visiting family in WV and NC, going to the zoo, hiking in the woods, swimming, playing in the sand box (thank you John and Lisa!), wading in streams, playing in dirt, in Daddy's garage, etc.!

We went for his 2-year check-up and all is well - he's 35 1/2 inches tall now and just under 29 lbs. If the saying is true about doubling his height at 2 1/2 years, he'll be taller than Jerry and I.

The birthday party was fun. We had it at our house this year and the theme was Cars (the movie). I think all the kids loved having a car race (see link of pictures) and a pinata. Who knows what the theme will be next year...

What Will He Say Next??????

Marcus is now almost 2 years old and the time has flown by!!! He is such a joy, smiles from ear to ear, and laughs easily. He is also the typical 2 year old in which he likes to express his dislikes about things shouting 'No!'. He already knows how to wrap himself around my finger too. It's so hard to discipline sometimes when he gives me such a cute little smile with a twinkle in his eyes right after he does something he knows he's not supposed to. I keep reminding myself to "be consistent."

He's been repeating just about everything we say now, which can be really fun. My mom is trying to get him to say "Uh! Oh! Spaghetti-O". It's so cute...he tries to say spaghetti-o, but it doesn't come out quite right yet. He adds a couple extra syllables. He's also singing along with songs now that he hears often. I love this age!!!!

Marcus is becoming a worshiper of the Lord too! I'll put some praise music on and he'll dance around the house with me, grabbing a little ribbon/banner I have. It's so amazing to watch! Not too long ago I received confirmation from someone that Marcus is going to be known as a worshiper! And to think the Lord is going to allow me to teach him! It's such an incredible blessing!
